Dunsin Oyekan profile photo as he shares his life's story, bio

Dunsin Oyekan was born in Ilorin, Nigeria, and his earliest musical roots took hold at age ten under the guidance of his father, Gbadebo Oyekan, the General Overseer of Evangelical Baptist Church and former leader of the worship group ‘Spiritual Singers’. Though Dunsin studied Industrial Chemistry at the University of Ilorin, a divine calling in 2014 redirected his path to full-time worship ministry.

But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

– Hebrews 12:22-24

For over two decades, he has birthed revelationary songs, sang in choirs, and served as a music director. He is a full-time worshipper who has released six albums — ‘Code Red’, ‘Kingdom Now’, ‘The Gospel of the Kingdom’, ‘The Glory Experience – Songs of Zion’, ‘The Birth of Revival’, and ’The Great Commission’. Fondly called “the Eagle”, Dunsin’s desire is to fill the atmosphere with the heart of God, witness God, and stir revival platformed on the power and wisdom of God. He does this through singing, playing the keyboard and guitar, and teaching the word of God.

After this I will return And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up; So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the LORD who does all these things.

– Acts 15:16-17

His ministry extends beyond recording studios through three signature gatherings: Upper Room (monthly worship), The Outpouring (revival meetings), and Code Red (annual worship experience). Each platform fulfills his God-given vision of saturating spaces with Christ’s divine presence and sounds imparted by the Holy Spirit.

Dunsin Oyekan is a devoted family man. He was married to his beloved wife, Adedoyin Oyekan, from February 2, 2013, until the Lord called her to glory on May 18, 2019. They are blessed with two lovely children.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

– Isaiah 40:31
